VOLUNTEER ANIMAL RESCUE PHOTOGRAPHY
Animal Rescue Photography in Perth
Helping rescue animals put their best paw forward.
A beautiful photograph can make all the difference when a rescue animal is looking for a loving home. It encourages someone to stop scrolling, take a closer look and perhaps make that all-important adoption enquiry.
I’m a professional pet photographer based in Ocean Reef, Perth, and I volunteer my photography services to help local animal rescue charities find homes for the dogs, cats and other animals in their care.
After all, everyone deserves a flattering photograph, particularly when they’re trying to find someone to spend the rest of their life with.

Volunteer Animal Rescue Photography in Perth
I’ve worked with animal rescue organisations in both Sydney and Perth over the years, creating professional portraits that help homeless animals stand out in their adoption profiles.
My aim is to capture the personality, character and individuality of each animal, helping potential adopters see the wonderful companion behind the photograph.
Some animals are natural performers. Others would rather inspect the furniture, investigate my camera or pretend I don’t exist. All perfectly acceptable behaviour, apparently.
How I Can Help Your Animal Rescue Charity
Professional adoption portraits
I offer complimentary studio photography for rescue animals awaiting adoption. These photographs can be used by participating rescue organisations to promote animals looking for their forever homes.
Fundraising photography
I also support selected animal rescue fundraising events, where pet owners can have their animals professionally photographed in return for a donation to the participating charity.
At a recent PetO Joondalup fundraiser, I photographed 17 dogs over four hours, helping raise more than $800 for Greyhound Adoptions WA.
Photographs for social media and publicity
Professional photographs can help rescue organisations tell an animal’s story through adoption appeals, websites, social media and fundraising campaigns.
A Calm, Comfortable Studio for Rescue Animals
My home studio is located in Ocean Reef, Perth’s northern suburbs. It’s a quiet, air-conditioned environment with professional lighting and hand-painted backdrops.
I photograph dogs and cats, and I’m happy to discuss other species too.
Rescue animals sometimes need extra time to feel comfortable in unfamiliar surroundings. I work patiently and allow them time to settle, without expecting perfect behaviour.
I’m also Reiki II qualified, which complements my calm, intuitive approach to working with animals. I’m particularly mindful of their body language, energy and individual personalities, allowing each animal to feel comfortable in their own time.
Some respond to a gentle voice, others to a little patience, and occasionally we seem to reach an understanding without either of us saying very much. Quite useful when your subject has four legs and absolutely no interest in following instructions.
Working With Perth Animal Rescue Organisations
My rescue photography is voluntary, and I provide my time free of charge to participating animal rescue charities.
To keep the arrangement manageable alongside my professional photography work, I generally photograph one animal per rescue organisation each weekend at my Ocean Reef studio.
However, if your organisation has an urgent situation, please get in touch and I’ll see what can be arranged.
I also hold public liability insurance for my photography work.
Some of the wonderful rescue organisations I’ve worked with
I’ve had the pleasure of supporting a number of animal rescue organisations over the years. Here are some of the charities whose work I’ve been fortunate enough to contribute to.

Let’s Help More Rescue Animals Find Homes
Every rescue animal deserves the opportunity to be seen for the wonderful individual they are.
If you’re involved with an animal rescue organisation in Perth and would like to discuss volunteer adoption photography or a fundraising event, I’d love to hear from you.
Whether you’re a small foster-based rescue or an established animal welfare charity, I’m always happy to discuss how I might help.
Because sometimes a beautiful photograph is the beginning of a much happier story.
